Alison Christensen, REALTOR®

"I love helping people find their special place on the island!  Galveston has such a variety of vacation homes and permanent residences. It is so rewarding to show people how wonderful the island is." Alison Smith Christensen grew up in Houston and earned her B.A. degree in Political Science from Texas A&M. A family vacation home in Galveston in the 90's turned into a permanent residence in 2002. "It wasn't a difficult choice; we loved the pace of 'island time' and found ourselves spending more and more time down here." Alison has an extensive knowledge of Galveston's coastal market; the West End, from beach to bay; the quaint neighborhoods - new and old - tucked throughout the island; and the windstorm and flood insurance requirements important to all property owners. "I was raised in Houston, and now Galveston is my home - I've had the best of both worlds. This combination helps me better understand and assist out-of-town buyers in our market." Active in the community, she attends St. Mary's Catholic Church, volunteers with the Bryan Museum and serves as a docent with the Galveston Historic Homes Tour each May. Alison is also an Active Member of The Friends of Rosenberg Library and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) for Galveston Island. She and her husband John are members of the Jean Lafitte Society. When she is not working with clients, Alison enjoys gardening, estate sales and vintage shops, trips to New Orleans, and entertaining her friends and family at her father's farm near Brenham.

Professional Associations include: National Association of Realtors® (NAR), Houston Association of Realtors® (HAR) and Currently serving as an Elected Board Member to the Galveston Association of Realtors® (GAR). Following in their mother's footsteps, her daughter, Ali, is a recent graduate of Texas A&M, and her son, Jack, is a current student at Texas A&M in College Station. As in many true Texas marriages, her husband, John, is a Longhorn!
